Home to Chapel Springs by Ane Mulligan, #3 in Chapel Springs series
***** 5 stars
Ane Mulligan has truly constructed the perfect fictional town. I would love to retire there. I say, perfect, but perfect is not calm. Chapel Springs is a little tourist town always looking for ways to grow, while maintaining its small-town charm. The inhabitants are the warmest people you would want to meet anywhere. From klutzy, artist Claire (who has a nose for trouble but a heart to help those who need a friend); to her nemesis, the mayor Felix, who asks her to lead his campaign; to a washed up writer who returns to her grandmother's home; the people of Chapel Springs are dynamic and often surprising in their growth and ingenuity. I must admit, there are a few characters that hail from the dark side, as no town probably is totally perfect, but that gives our story its adventure and our characters the impetus to grow or regress.
Ane truly knows how to turn a phrase and makes good use of colloquialisms and humor to drive the conversations. I laughed out loud, I was near tears, I held my breath as the story lines twisted and turned suddenly, intricately coming together to tell the beautiful tale of imperfect people who love their God and their town. Don't miss this third book in the Chapel Springs series by Ane Mulligan.
I was gratefully gifted an ARC copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
